A new version of this website in under preparation and will be published soon.

The New Joint Stamp Issues Catalogue 2006 is now available!

Best Joint Issue 2006 awarded to Austria and Hong Kong : Fireworks

Joint stamp issues are stamps released by two or more postal administrations at the occasion of a common event or anniversary and that are characterized either by a common design or the same date of issue or both. New: The new classification system is finalized and available as a pdf file.

As the number of issues of this type is growing almost exponentially, and also, as more and more stamps collectors are interested in this new type of collection, it appeared realistic to create an International Society that has to become a center for exchange of information.

International Philatelic Society of Joint Stamp Issues Collectors

Although having official by-laws and an identified physical address, this association will probably continue to be considered as a "Virtual Society" due to the fact that the collectors are spread all over the world and meet physically only at a local level. However members benefit from real information exchange and quarterly updated information through the Society journal "Joint Stamp Issues" [ISSN 1712-8390 (Print) ISSN 1712-8404 (Online)] that has reached the Number 30 in August 2005. (To see a pdf sample of this journal, click here)

This site is intended to become the information gathering center for collectors connected to the web, but the printed documents will remain the official information link, beside the members' page. This site is expected to be updated regularly, but its contents will mainly depend from the information sent by other stamp collectors.

Today more than 131 members from 21 countries have joined the society

Since November 2002, a special members'site was opened for all members in good standing order with their membership fees. These pages collect all information published in the journals (archives), data about specific country joint issues, special articles about specific pairs of joint issues, full addresses of members, advertisement section for exchange of material between members, and the most recent discussions about the society itself. A confidential access code is required to enter these pages. Hence the complete information and the most updated one is only available in our journal and the member's pages.

Since February 2006, the new Joint Stamp Issues Catalogue 2006 is available for sale. This 736-pages catalogue in English describes about 1300 joint issues and shows more than 3400 pictures of stamps, souvenir sheets or postal stationery items.
