Information
The International Philatelic
Society of Joint Stamp Issues Collectors was created for all stamp
lovers who have found an interest in collecting joint issues. The
Society itself has as main task to collect the information on joint
issues and to redistribute this information to members and externals.
Printed quarterly reports and the web site are the main working
and communication tools of the Society.
You can help to update
this site without being necessarily member of the Society. But,
why should you then still join the Society ?
The Web site will
give you the most updated information on Joint Issues. It has
to become an information exchange center. However, the information
older than two years will be erased as soon as other new issues
are appearing. So, the web site is only intended to give information
on the presently worldwide available stamps.
Moreover, most of
the collectors have not yet access to the web and have to be
informed through the normal postal way. Society members will
benefit from the following advantages:
- The leaflet "Joint
Stamp Issues" is the official journal of the Society that collects
and updates all the information found on this topic. Four times
a year, it will be sent to each member. Complementary to the
information published in the web site, you will also find updated
information on older issues (before 1998). Adresses of dealers
specialized in Joint Issues are published there. Adresses of
members will be published only in the leaflets. The Quarterly
report will also contain monographs on specific older issues
and updated country's joint stamp lists. To
see a pdf sample of this journal click here.
- You will be able
to publish your own advertisements for free. If you have stamps
to sell or if you are looking for specific items, this information
will reach all the collectors which are specialized, like you,
in joint issues.
- All this information
is available also on the web on special pages for members accessible
only with a special individual confidential code.
- You will be able
to buy the recently issued stamps by joining our New Issues
Service. Stamps can be obtained at the lowest possible prices
(usually stamp postage value plus postage fees).
- The Catalogue
of Joint Issues is made available at a special member price.
- Beginning of each
year you will receive the latest yearly update of the catalogue
also for free (1998 update, 28 pages; 1999 update, 40 pages;
2000 update 32 pages; 2001 update, 32 pages; 2002 update, 32
pages; 2003 update, 32 pages; 2004 update, 44 pages); 2005 update,
32 pages.
- If possible and
if enough interest it is intended to organize a
mail auction of joint issues stamps and documents from members.
On the web site,
a special member page gives supplementary information such
as on-line access to the "Joint Stamp Issues" journals,
detailed list of recent stamps, country's updated stamp lists,...
The membership annual
dues are actually only requested to cover printing costs and postage
fees and differ therefore depending if you are living in or outside
the European Community (Higher postage rates). The membership annual
due (2005) was fixed to 12.00 Euros for EC members, 16.00 Euros
or 20.00 US$ for North America and other European members, 17.00
Euros or 21.00 US$ for all other countries. A first entrance fee
of 3.00 Euros/US$ is requested from all new members.
There is also a possibility to limit the membership to a on-line-only
member fee of 8.00 Euros/US$ giving access to the same information
but only in an electronic form (access to the members' site).
