Best Joint Issue 2003

On behalf of the International Philatelic Society of Joint Stamp Issues Collectors, I am glad to inform that our members have chosen the following series as the Best Joint Issues for the year 2003

1: France and India
Birds

La Poste France and India Post have been awarded the Best Joint Issue 2003 for the Bird series Stamps issued on November 29, 2003

2: Hong Kong - Sweden
Waterbirds

The second position was awarded to the Waterbirds stamps issued on October 4, 2003 involving Hong Kong and Sweden.

3: PR China and Hungary
Books

The third position was obtained by Hungary and PR China with the Books twin stamps issued on September 30, 2003

The selection was made among 28 joint pairs issued during the year 2003 involving 59 countries (actually only 43 different countries) and representing in total 147 stamps and 17 souvenir sheets. Omnibus series were excluded from the contest.

Congratulations to all postal administrations and to their designers for the high quality of the stamps that have been produced during the year 2003.
